Some days are very good, some days are much more average. Some days are just pure darkness. As many of you will know, I've had a real rollercoaster of an experience with my mind. We now know that actually, so many of us do. For me, an escape from that darkness means getting behind the wheel and getting some fresh air. It can make the biggest difference to your mindset.

I first got involved with @driveagainstdepression in my first year working in Sydney, and now, I call these wonderful people part of my family. All it took was one reach out and the rest all fell into place. Becoming an ambassador has been an absolute honour, and I'm excited that we have another drive in Sydney coming up on Sunday, September 20.

I know for certain that all it takes is for one person during one of these fantastic events to feel better about their mental situation, and it will 100% make a brilliant difference. I know this because it happened for me, and without DAD, I'd be on a different, much more difficult path. Talking about mental health and the struggles we have is one thing, but to let down your walls and say "I'm not okay", is really powerful stuff.

I hope to see my Sydney friends on the drive on September 20. You might just learn something new about yourself or others, and therefore make real change to reduce the overall stigma of mental illness
